For the past year and a half, over 500 cats and dogs found a new home thanks to the work by our volunteers. Last week, during a press conference, the blueprints for the Refuge Madawaska Shelter were presented to the public. Also, Madawaska Maliseet First Nation Chief Patricia Bernard announced the first nation was donating a piece of land for the construction of the shelter. She also committed to find $100,000 by the end of 2014 for the construction. The project will cost around $400,000; we still need to find some funds to complete our construction budget.
