The Refuge Madawaska Shelter receives $5,000 from the Aviva Community Fund

Edmundston, January 28, 2014 – Following the final round of the Aviva Community Fund competition, the Refuge Madawaska Shelter receives a lump sum of $5,000. The jury’s decision was announced this morning during CTV’s Canada AM morning show. The Refuge Madawaska Shelter qualified for the final round in December 2013 after receiving tremendous support from people all around the country by getting 13000 votes during the semi-finals. The Refuge Madawaska Shelter was in the “Large budget” category in order to win $100,000 to $150,000, an amount that would have allowed to quickly complete the construction budget for their permanent facility.
