The Refuge Madawaska Shelter hands over pet oxygen masks to the Edmundston Fire Safety Department

EDMUNDSTON, October 29, 2013 – The Refuge Madawaska Shelter Inc. received a donation of three pet oxygen masks and decided to donate them to the chief of the Edmundston Central Fire Station, Mr. Mario L’Italien. This donation, which came following the Fur Safety Campaign of the New Brunswick SPCA, will help to save more lives in the region during fires, accidents or other pet emergencies.  The firefighters will be able to administer proper oxygen to the animals and heighten their chance at survival. The Refuge Madawaska Shelter Inc. in the semifinals of the “AVIVA Community Fund” contest

EDMUNDSTON, October 17, 2013 – The Refuge Madawaska Shelter Inc. has accessed the semifinals of the AVIVA Community Fund contest. At the end of the first qualifying round, which took place from September 30 to October 14, the Refuge Madawaska Shelter did very well, finishing 5th among all projects submitted across Canada and 3rd in the “big budget” category. Since only the first 10 projects from each category qualified for the semi-final, this 3rd position therefore allows them to access it directly, without having to participate in the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds.
